Ever since I saw this idea months ago, I have been wanting to create one of my own. I found some ladybird crayons that I never use, hot glued them on a piece of canvas and heated them with a blow dryer. Et voila!
The crayons reacted a little bit different than I expected (probably due to the type or quality), but it is a super simple and fun project to try yourself. Also, it would make a great gift!
I have been wanting to try this too! I didn't even think of using the blow dryer, so I had no idea how I would do it. Thanks for sharing this--I'm going to try it soon--I even already have a canvas ready to use and tons of crayons. Eep! I'm excited : ]
ReplyDeleteWow! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool!!
ReplyDeleteGreat!!
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing, I never saw something like this.
Good job :)
@ Beckie: Yay so exciting! I'm sure you will like it and I would love to see what your result is!
ReplyDelete@Mariana & Rochelle New: haha, the effect is great for the effort you put in ;)
@ Melissa: Did you know there also is something like 'wax art'. A mother of a friend was into that when I was in primary school.. basically you take an iron an heat wax en stroke over paper with it and make fancy psychedelic patterns. It's another little project I might want to try some day ;)
We love Polka Dots! :D
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and Happy New Year from Spain!!
:D
I just posted a blog about my melted crayon art--complete with pictures. Thanks for the inspiration to try this out!! : ]
ReplyDeleteI always think these look like so much fun, but know I don't really have a space in my house that I would hang one. Maybe for a gift though, or to make with my nephew. Now to find crayons with wrappers as cute as yours. :)
ReplyDelete-Sara-
stunning! love it! can't wait for the shops to open again to try it out! x
ReplyDeleteI really want to try this idea, it seems like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteYours looks awesome.
@Sara&Eva: Me too! And the same for you!!
ReplyDelete@ Beckie: Yeah I saw it! You were so fast in your implementation, bonus points for your pro-activeness ;)
@ Sara: Making it with your nephew sounds like a fun idea. And he can keep it afterwards :) My crayons were part of a big box (with markers and pencils and stuff as well) that I have had since I was a kid.
@ ktpland: Thanks :) Haha I know! At first I had a different canvas, but I had too little crayons to fill one side up. So I doubted whether I should get a new one the next day but I simply couln't wait so took my long canvas instead.
@ The Craft-Arty Kid: I would love to see if you do!
<3 I love your header!! follow me?
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute!!! I just love the way it looks. It is definitely a work of art! :-)
ReplyDeleteI included it in my Wednesday Colour Splash post today, by the way. :-) It's a nice inspiration!
