Well, somewhere in my city there is a GIANT white paint stain on the sidewalk. I think a bucket of paint must have fallen over or something months ago. Every time when I bike by I feel the urge to make it into a giant doodle. To make something that nobody cares about into a piece of art.
Yesterday the weather was great and I remembered the stain. So I called up a friend (who also paints with me in the Big Bug Collection) and we spent out afternoon in the sun painting.
Do you have something that you have been wanting to do for ages but keep putting off? I would love to encourage you to get off your butt and do it! I guarantee it feels pretty awesome :)
omg it's really cool!so nice!!!!love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous! Reminds me of the artist that paints on chewing gun that has been trodden into the pavement.
ReplyDeleteLove x
What? I never heard of that! Who is it? I think that's a great idea! :D
DeleteWhat a great idea, and what fun art you guys created.
ReplyDeleteAh, just think of all the strangers who will smile to see it transformed! Did anybody stop to ask you what you were doing?
ReplyDeleteYes lots of people passed by as we were painting. Most just walked by, but a few said something or stopped. We only got positive reactions though. From little boys saying it was awesome to adult men coming back to have a second look and a student offering us beer on his way back haha.
DeleteThat looks fantastic! I hope it's permanent paint, because it just perks up that spill so much. I love how you used the shape to make the design-- definitely the tactile version of cloud shapes!
ReplyDeleteActually I am not sure if it will stay or not. The paint is normal acrylic paint we used, nothing really meant for the street. So we'll see :) We already said that if it does fade away we can just make a new drawing over it :D
DeleteOh that is amazing.. love it.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Loved this post. :)
