Past Project: Ballpoint doodles
I play with things when I listen. It can be a pen, my chair, a glass, basically anything near to me that can be moved. Sometimes I doodle. I think doodling is a form of fumbling around as well. Usually they will just be ‘non-shapes’, little scribbles, nothing that interesting. But when I was in high school I went through a phase where I started to make more structured doodles. I would start somewhere with a middle point and build little shapes around it while it grew into more interesting patterns. I have kept some:

Awesome! My last name is Dutch, so therefore somewhere back down out line of heritage, I am part Dutch! Yay!
ReplyDeleteAnd this is awesome! I used to draw different patterns/lines in circles like yours, but yours are way more hi-tech. Mine were like, a dot, then a single line, then triangles, and so on and so forth. You should totally do this with markers or something and the color would be so beautiful!

ReplyDeletemy husband does the same thing! he is an artist too and will doodle like that, he actually did it last night when my teenage daughter was having a melt down at the table, he just sat there and listened and made a really pretty doodle with pink and blue ink! and sometimes he will make funny ones, like him with big muscles hahaha

@ Julie: Yeah actually we have quite some words that are similar to English, like 'periode' is 'period' and 'methode' is 'method', 'datum' is 'date' :)
wow, i think these drawings are amazing. i've been known to be a doodler too, but nothing like this!!
