How to make your children eat vegetables

Photobucket Photobucket

It all started when I was making a little play-doh friend at university. Of course this was all academically grounded, as I needed to visualize interaction scenarios by making a short stop-motion video. Anyhow, this post is not about that really, as the pictures might suggest. What is interesting and relevant though, is that the cheap clay I bought came with a bunch of miniature cutters and spatulas. And then the simple idea popped in my head to use them to cut carrot slices with. So I did. End of story.

Well not really, because I actually don’t have kids. But I imagine they would like their food better this way. I don’t really feel like you need to be a kid in order to play with your food, but then again, if you do have children and decide to experiment on them with this idea, I would love to hear your test results!

Also, I think the idea would be great for Christmas, like in a soup or to garnish a dish.

  3. So cute I'd totally eat those if I were a picky kid. Gonna try these on my step son next time he visits! X

  4. I would totally eat more vegetables this way. In fact, I think the fact that the carrots in the Chicken 'n Stars soup were, well, star-shaped, was the only reason I ate them in that kind of soup alone xD

  5. This is very very cute! I am imagining all sorts of wonderful Pinterest ideas and recipes taking shape from these simple little cutters. I have never seen them so small before! I would want to cut up anything and everything : ] And I am also quite certain kids would love eating all of that anything and everything. You know, play tricks on their mind that even though it tastes the same, you'll like it more because it's in the shape of a star and whatnot. Tooootally.
    Awesome idea : ]

What a great idea. Wish I'd known this when my son was little. Meal times might have been a little less stressful. LOL
