Paper crane in a light bulb

The other day my roommate was replacing his broken light bulb with a new one. Light bulbs are becoming rarer these days, with LED’s taking over and everything and I was gripped by a sentiment that urged me to make something out of this piece of metal and glass that soon will represent nostalgia. So I opened up the light bulb and broke some elements out, and figured that putting something in it would be neat.

I folded a tiny paper crane, made a tiny cloud and connected thin threads to them both. Now I want to put all kinds of things in light bulbs…

  5. How sweet! I love the shape of a proper lightbulb, but can't remember the last time I bought one - energy-efficieny, and all that. You've inspired me to try and rescue one!

  6. I have one question: How do you seal the light bulb backup? I can´t for the life of me find any info on how to do that.

    1. I cut out a cardboard circle that was metallic coloured and glued it on with a hot glue gun. It didn't turn out to be the strongest fix. It also depend on how you want to use it; this one is just filled with air so pretty light. If I were to fill the light bulbs with liquid for example (like in later vase DIY's) and want to close them, I would never choose such a material.. Hope that helps
