I created the canvas painting above this week as part of this challenge.
What was difficult?
Starting. I didn’t feel that inspired at first, but once I simply starting with something I had in my head that seemed interesting it was all fine.
What was fun?
Seeing my painting develop. When I started I wasn’t sure yet how it would turn out and I was deciding on the color use as I was going, so the outcome always is somewhat of a surprise. It was also the first time I made a video like this of my painting; it’s fun to see work change and grow.
What did I learn?
I feel like I am developing in my painting and drawings. I am experimenting more, and I would have never used colors like blue, pink, green and yellow all in one face a year ago. It’s fun to notice that I am learning by doing and am making more risky choices, like dripping paint or using wild color combinations.
Oh wow, that's beautiful! I loved watching the video of it. How long did it take you to do? ♥

Hi Marielle. Oh your painting turned out so nicely! I love the colours you used and the way the hair flows. I bought myself some new supplies to begin drawing in 2012 but I haven't gotten to it yet. You have just inspired me to get cracking!

It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am like that too--I have to wait for the inspiration to strike or it just doesn't come naturally and it won't turn out good. But it's great to see that you pushed through it and came up with something this amazing! Wow!!
Oh my goodness that's stunning!! Do you sell any of your art? You're so talented =)
ReplyDeleteIt came out beautifully :)

darling, this is so lovely! you did an excellent job - faces can be sooooo tricky but yours turned out very proportional and symmetrical!
ReplyDeleteWHOA. this post was so cool. you're so talented...
ReplyDelete@ Sara: It took me about 2 to 2,5 hours I guess..
ReplyDelete@ Loulou: Yay exciting! I also feel the desire to paint whenever I see paintings of others :)
@ Daydream retreat: Thanks :)
@ Beckie: Yeah me too, that's why these challenges are good for me:p it makes that I try to push myself a little bit beyond that.. :)
@ Nikkijoy: actually I don't. Sometimes I daydream about it. Perhaps I will at some point, but for now I am simply happy creating and experimenting :)
@ Erica, Shutterbug, Nicole & Rochelle New: Thanks! (welcome to my blog nicole!)
@ Shakti: I know, but that's also why I love doing them.. They are quite the challenge and carry loads of emotion. Eyes only can say so much!
@ Suzy: ahh thanks :)
That is a freaking AWESOME painting! Do you sell your paintings, or do you do them just for fun?
ReplyDeleteAnd... I love the picture on your header! I can never get enough polka dots!

I love it. And, I can't get over your header image. I kind of love polka dots :)
ReplyDeletethat video was amazing! it's so cool to watch the process!
ReplyDeleteI really like painting! : )
ReplyDeleteIs the image for sale? I am wanting to create a site and looking for a cool brand logo... your painting is kind of what I'm looking for.
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me a bit more what it is you want to do? Would you like to use the exact image, transform it, want the original artwork, what about it makes it interesting for you and what doesn't (as you say 'kind of'). A bit more context would help me to answer your question :) But I am pleased to hear that you like my art and that it might match something you are working on. let's talk. You can also just send me an e-mail if that's easier!
